Description
Clinical Update in Pediatrics provides an opportunity for the general ophthalmologist to actively engage in a discussion of current issues and practice guidelines in pediatric ophthalmology. The discussion topics encourage reflection on clinical knowledge, and on the ophthalmologist's role as a communicator and health advocate.
Objectives
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- integrate the Canadian guidelines for the diagnosis, treatment, and genetic and psycho-social counseling for children and their families coping with retinoblastoma into their practice
- describe in detail the treatment of nasolacrimal obstruction, including how and when to start treatment
- more affectively assess a child's diagnosis through improvements in history-taking
