The COS Surgical Teaching Series (STS) is a multimedia, practical-based program focused on advances in surgical techniques for the general ophthalmologist. This year's focus is on advanced phaco devices and instrumentation.
NOTE: This course is a corresponding didactic course for this year's cataract surgery skills transfer course on Thursday June 9.
Objectives
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Express an enhanced understanding of the surgical skills in the use of advanced phaco devices and instrumentation for complex cataract cases.
- Discuss the use of pupillary expansion rings, iris retractors, capsular retractors, capsular tension rings, capsular tension segments, and microinstrumentation (microforceps, microscissors, IOL cutting instruments).
