Sustainability in Ophthalmology Working Group
The Sustainability in Ophthalmology Working Group is dedicated to promoting environmentally responsible practices within the field of eye care. The group leads the development of practical resources aimed at reducing waste in ophthalmic practices and surgeries. These resources include expert tips and advice on surgical waste reduction, strategies for clinics to minimize environmental impact, and the creation of a groundbreaking Sustainability Toolkit—the first resource of its kind focused specifically on sustainable surgical practices. Through these efforts, the group empowers ophthalmology professionals to adopt eco-friendly approaches without compromising patient care.
