Job Summary

Unity Health Toronto, St Joseph’s Health Centre site in Toronto is inviting applications for a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist for a full-time active staff position in the Division of Ophthalmology. St. Joseph’s is a fully accredited community teaching hospital within the Unity Health Toronto network, serving Toronto’s west-end.

Our hospital is a 400-bed facility that employs approximately 2,500 staff, along with 400 credentialed staff physicians. The Division of Ophthalmology at St. Joseph’s Health Centre is affiliated with the Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences at the University of Toronto. The ideal candidate will have an interest in education, clinical research, leadership, and/or quality improvement. The successful candidate will join a team of 8 other ophthalmologists, will be expected to conduct weekly clinics in the Eye Centre at St. Joseph’s Health Centre and will have access to the Eye Centre for cataract surgery on the hospital premises as well as the main Operating Room for more complex cases. The candidate will participate in the ophthalmology on-call schedule and will have a commitment to the outpatient clinic (for emergency patients and inpatients) and ROP assessments in the NICU.
