Dr. Graham E. Trope is a professor of ophthalmology at the University of Toronto. He has directed the Glaucoma Service at University Health Network since 1984. He is the past chair of ophthalmology at the University of Toronto and past ophthalmologist in chief at University Health Network. During his career, he has published over 200 scientific articles and edited two books, one titled Glaucoma, A Patient’s Guide to the Disease and the other titled Glaucoma Surgery. Dr. Trope has been involved in glaucoma research and treatment for over 30 years and is the founder and scientific director of the Glaucoma Research Society of Canada. As a respected physician and mentor, he has trained 51 glaucoma fellows from all parts of Canada and the world and is a past examiner for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Dr. Trope is the past editor in chief of the Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology, winner of the Ontario College of Physicians and Surgeons Council Award for his contributions to patient care and has been awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal for his contribution to ophthalmology in Canada.
