Royal College

MOC Section 1 – Group learning
The 2018 COS Annual Meeting is an accredited group learning activity under Section 1 of the MOC Program as defined by the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) and has been approved by the Canadian Ophthalmological Society. Participants may claim up to 33 credit hours.

Through an agreement between the American Medical Association (AMA) and the RCPSC, the 2018 COS Annual Meeting, as a live educational activity, qualifies for AMA PRA category 1 credits.

Live educational activities, occurring in Canada, recognized by the RCPSC as Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) are deemed by the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) eligible for ECMEC.

MOC Section 2 – Self-assessment
Poster viewing: Learning from poster presentations may be claimed as a Scanning Activity under Section 2, as defined by the RCPSC. You may claim 0.5 credits per poster with a documented learning outcome in MAINPORT.

MOC Section 3 – SAP & simulation
The Skills Transfer Courses are Accredited Simulation Activities (Section 3) as defined by the MOC Program of The Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the Canadian Ophthalmological Society.

Allied health

AOC
Participants may claim up to 4.0 AOC core credits for the TCOS workshop, and up to 5.5 AOC core credits for the TCOS scientific session.

COC
Participants may claim up to 3.7 core COC CE credits for the TCOS workshop. For the TCOS scientific session, participants may claim up to 5.6 core COC CE credits and 0.8 non-core COC CE credits.

JCAHPO
Participants may claim up to 3.0 JCAHPO A credits for the TCOS workshop, and 4.75 JCAHPO A credits for the TCOS scientific session. The CSOMP annual education day is approved for 7.0 JCAHPO A credits. Other COS sessions can be submitted for B credits. (ratio of 2:1 for COA and COT. COMT get a 1:1 ratio).
